Dave Aftandilian Fascinating atmospheric black metal evocation of the truly strange subatomic world. From every direction they come—pounding, tearing, twisting, shearing. Spinning ever faster, almost into invisibility, pressures mounting uncontrollably and unbearably…then sweet relief of release in a blinding flash of light. Turn to one side or the other and marvel at the infinite explosions receding into the event horizon. Matter transmuting into energy; energy becoming spirit.

whatisthis8175 Sweet black metal with a focus on particle physics, which just makes it all the more intense.

Facundo Batista Relentless atmoblack with a really unique sound. First BM release from 2019 that got me 100% engaged. Favorite track: Chaos of Fluctuation.
Sonny92
Sonny92 thumbnail
Sonny92 A black metal exploration of the world of astrophysics, without the friendly faces of Neil deGrasse Tyson or Brian Cox to assure us that the universe isn't the hostile, uncaring place that it really is. Strigae's origins seem to be unknown, but their brand of atmo-black is very Germanic, feeling more remote and fatalistic than the nature-themed bands that make up a large proportion of the genre. Well worth the time for any BM devotee. Favorite track: Mass and Spin.
